TToday marks my third day working at Venice Arts as the Getty Public Programs Intern. Even though I have been here for such a short period of time, I can already tell this will be one of the most fulfilling experiences that I will have in my career.
During my first day of work, Elysa and I went through the several tasks that I will be focusing on throughout the summer. One of them includes promoting the 2016 Screening Series on all forms of social media and developing marketing strategies. The films will be about, by, and for women, giving visibility to the civil, economic, and political struggles that women experience in a male dominated society across the world. Since I had previously worked as the PR for the USC Women’s Student Assembly promoting discussion panels and even helping organize a feminist music festival, I am very excited to participate in this project brought by Venice Arts and Women’s Voices Now.
In the meantime, I cannot wait to be part of the summer programs that this space will have prepared for those communities that needed the most. I hope to be of help to everyone and do my best to work for an organization that I feel truly passionate about.
