I cannot begin to express my thanks to Venice Arts for granting me the opportunity to indulge in Idyllwild's film summer intensive program.
Without Venice Arts, I would've never been able to afford to attend such an enriching experience.
My Directing For Camera class merging with the Acting For Camera class allowed me to practice directing with students actually motivated to perfect their craft as much as I wanted to perfect my own. My class and I managed to write, shoot, and edit 5 reimagined scenes and 5 original scenes. This has doubled my production experience which will do more than boost my resume; it has given me an even better short film to submit for my supplemental application for the very near college application season upon me.
I have taken several nonprofit film classes in the past, but none that allowed me to work with my film crew around the clock for two weeks straight. Access to and assistance with such professional equipment allowed for my film to be as aesthetically pleasing as I desired. I'll be sure not to forget the cooperative actors and crew that helped me create my vision under such a strict time frame.
I hope future ambitious students are granted this opportunity and find it as beneficial as I have.
