Shards of Struggle: A Portrait of Oaxaca
During the spring of 2009, a group of students and I teamed up and raised money to fund a student media research trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. We went to research the impact that neo-liberal policies implemented by the US in the past decade had on the indigenous communities of Oaxaca. Oaxaca has the largest indigenous communities in all of Mexico, and very similar to the Native Americans of America, these communities are largely marginalized by their own government. These photos are a collection that I used for my Senior Photography Show upon our arrival home.
