We Want YOU for the Community Story Lab

Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:40PM

We would like to invite you to a seeding workshop for our new Community Story Lab project for adults. Consisting of free workshops in photography and media arts where you can collaborate with and learn from professional artists, this new initiative will build off of Venice Arts’ long history working in participant-media and arts education. The project will take place over 2014 and will culminate in an exhibition of work to be presented in April 2015, during Month of Photography Los Angeles. The teaching artists will be award-winning documentary photographer Sara Terry, who will lead an in-depth documentary photography project called The Storyteller's Voice, and public practice artists Michelle Glass & Paige Tighe, who will lead monthly Labs where you can learn a variety of media arts techniques and skills.

The program will be free of charge to participants and all equipment and training will be provided.

We want you, the parents of our students, to be the first involved and to help us craft a project that is responsive to your needs and interests. Please join us, meet the artists, and help us shape a project that is relevant to you.

Saturday, January 25th, 1:00pm–2:30pm
Venice Arts, 1702 Lincoln Blvd.
Refreshments will be provided

Please let us know if you can make it by RSVPing to Meg at meg@venice-arts.org.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday the 25th!

All the best,
Meg & Elysa
