LEARN MORE ABOUT BRASELINO:

Braselino was 13 years old when he participated in The House Is Small But The Welcome Is Big in Maputo, Mozambique.  Braselino lost both of his parents to AIDS; his mother when he was a young boy and his father when he was 11. He and his 15-year-old sister live with their grandmother. The family survives through income earned by Braselino’s grandmother, a farm worker, and through assistance from the NGO Reencontro, providing food, clothing, and school supplies.

Braselino wants to be a photographer and had an interest in photography before participating in The House Is Small. He enjoyed taking photographs and making new friends with the Mozambican photographers and The House Is Small project team. When asked what he hopes to tell the world through his pictures, he says, "I would like the world to see the love that I have for my grandmother and the life we share together."
