Announcing Venice Arts' Film & Digital Media Career Pathways Pilot Program
We are proud to announce that Venice Arts is partnering with Los Angeles County's Workforce Development, Aging, and Community Services to design and launch a Film & Digital Media Career Pathways pilot program for the County's low-income young people, ages 16-25.
Designed to inspire in youth a sense of possibility and belief in their own potential, the Pilot is being run under the auspices of Venice Arts' Creative Pathways program and is free to eligible students.
A 4-level, sequenced program, it offers over 100 hours of training, including virtual panel presentations, field trips, and job shadowing with our partners at Disney, Sony, Dreamworks, and Motive, among many others, as well as immersive film and digital media training. Graduates receive a $500 stipend and have the opportunity to apply for paid internships, participate in advanced learning, and sit for the Adobe Premiere Pro Associate level exam. To help assure success, participants also receive intensive case management, creative career counseling, and funding to offset barriers to participation—such as transportation or the need for child-care.
Level 1: EXPOSE starts February 17. Meets virtually every Wednesday and Friday, 4-5:30 for four weeks. Only 30 people are selected for Levels 2 and 3, with Level 1 participants receiving priority. To apply, click HERE, and find more information about the program, HERE.
Eligibility: Low-income young people, ages 16-25, living in LA County. Individuals who are former or current foster youth, out of work and not in school, homeless, and/or have been involved in the criminal justice system, receive priority.
If you or your company would like to get involved, please email Program Manager, Carly Short.
