Youth will learn foundational drawing skills and how to incorporate mixed-media elements such as collage, watercolor and pastel.

  • Los Angeles is one of the larest cities in the world. But what is it all about?! This workshop invites the participants to explore the identity of LA through a series of mixed media projects. Learners will be introduced to the basics of collage, drawing, weaving, and printmaking.

  • Photography is more than the image on your phone. Learners will create mixed media photographs using cyanotype, anthotype, image transfer and other alternative methods.

high school

  • Enter the world of video editing and show off your style and self expression in a variety of fun, experimental video projects. In this intermediate-to-advanced workshop, youth will expand their video editing skills as they learn montage editing, archival editing, green screen production, basic animation, and basic visual effects in Adobe Premiere Pro. The workshop will culminate in a final project using a mix of original and archival footage to create a montage that celebrates each learners‘ individual style. Whether it’s a catchy, eye-popping edit you’d find on social media or an abstract sequence from an experimental documentary, learners will be encouraged to push the boundaries of their creativity in film.
