There are lots of ways to get involved at Venice Arts: as an artist-mentor, a guest presenter, a creative career panelist, and more. We also have opportunities to volunteer for events, administrative work, and fundraising; college internships; and community engagement for creative companies. Call 310.392.0846 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
Artist-mentors—photographers, filmmakers, animators, and multimedia artists—are the heart of Venice Arts. Without them, we would not be able to provide our 1:3 artist-to-youth ratio, assuring the close mentoring and support for which Venice Arts is known. Volunteer artists gain teaching experience and personal reward, while nurturing young people's creativity and inspiring them to hone their craft.
If you are available for a three-hour block—on weekdays or Saturdays—during our 24-week academic year program, or for a 3-hour, daily block during our 4-week Summer Media Arts Camp, we're the place for you!
Volunteer artist-mentors Must:
- Complete the Volunteer Application, above.
- Pass a Live Scan DOJ background check.
- Attend our Faculty Orientation and Training.
- Be committed for the entire academic year or for 3-hours daily, for 1-4 weeks during the month of July. Consistency is very important. Students develop deep bonds with their mentors, and this is part of what makes our program such a unique learning environment.
