Up to 50 artists, and other community members, volunteer each year at Venice Arts. They are the backbone of our intergenerational creative community! Join us!

  • Artist-Mentors: Photographers, filmmakers, animators, and multimedia artists volunteer in the classroom and allow us to provide the 1:3 artist-to-youth-ratio and close mentoring and support for which Venice Arts is known. Artists gain teaching experience and personal reward, while nurturing young people's creativity and inspiring them to hone their craft. If you are available for a three-hour block—on weekdays or Saturdays during our 24-week academic year program, or for a 3-hour, daily block for 1-4 weeks during our Summer Media Arts Camp, we're the place for you! Find details, and a link to the application, below.

  • College Mentors: Provide 1:1 support to Venice Arts’ teens as they venture on the path to college. Help youth to perfect their personal essay, build their portfolio, and/or stay on track during the application process.

  • Creative Career Panelist or Classroom Guest Artist: Share your work and your educational and creative journey as a Creative Career panelist, or as a guest artist in the classroom! Contact our Creative Pathways Coordinator to learn more!

We also have volunteer opportunities at events, in administration and fundraising; college internships; and community engagement activities for creative companies. Call 310.392.0846 or email info@venicearts.org to learn more.
