Dr. Sandra E. Cano

Dr. Sandra E. Cano is an educational leader with more than 20 years of experience across public
education and nonprofit leadership. Her career has included roles as a teacher, instructional
coach, principal, and most recently Senior Vice President and Executive Director of City Year
Los Angeles, where she led a $16 million organization supporting students across Los Angeles
Unified schools.
Dr. Cano earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from UCLA. As the
daughter of immigrants and a former English learner, she is deeply committed to expanding
opportunity for young people from historically underserved communities. She is honored to
serve on the board of Venice Arts and support its mission of empowering youth through
storytelling and the media arts.
