Matt began taking classes at Venice Arts in 2005 and continued being involved at Venice Arts, as did his two brothers, for several years. In that time, Matt came a long way in both developing his creative abilities within our workshops as well as socially and emotionally developing through our project-based work. While he has studied both photography and digitally based art, he developed a keen interest in working in the darkroom as well as black & white photography. This portrait of a Venice Beach street performer, the Juggler, captures Matt’s understanding of the photographic ‘decisive moment’ and his skills in black-and-white film photography.
