Voices of the Forest: Thailand to be Featured at Earth Optimism Summit

We are thrilled to announce that Voices of the Forest: Thailand will be featured at the Earth Optimism Summit at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C, April 21–23, 2017. Earth Optimism celebrates a change in focus from problem to solution in the area of global conservation with an unprecedented gathering of thought leaders, scientists, environmentalists, artists, civic leaders and international media.

Voices of the Forest is a series of short films that Venice Arts created collaboratively with staff and community members of The Center for People and Forests as part of a training program in participatory media in 2014. The films explore the unique relationship that local communities in Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia have with their surrounding forests, and the role that these communities play in sustaining forest ecology. See more about this documentary project here.
